It was a pleasure to host the Gone Fishing team, for their ‘Christmas Special 2021’ shoot.

As many people noticed, there were leaves on the trees, so by the magic of TV, the Christmas Special was actually filmed at the end of September 2021.

We had never ever seen the river so low and were not hopeful that they would catch their intended prey: an Atlantic Salmon, caught in an English river.

However, we need not have worried, they caught (and released) a Brown Trout, Sea Trout, Grayling (by mistake and out of season) and an Atlantic Salmon.

Thanks to Paul and Bob who were as wonderful as they appear on screen. We would also like to thank the great team working on the show and particularly fishing expert John Bailey and Producer Stephanie and Director Rob.
